European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad

The first European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad, organised by UKMT and Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, was held in April 2012.

The UK Mathematical Olympiad for Girls (UK MOG) was held on 23 June 2011 to select those students who engaged in training for the competition. Final selection of the UK team was on the basis of BMO1 and BMO2 results, and students who were not involved in the training were still eligible for selection for the team. Further information about EGMO 2012 training, selection and preparation is available. Results were announced on 14 April 2012.

Training and selection of teams for subsequent EGMOs will be on a similar basis; the date of UK MOG 2012 has yet to be determined.

Teams consist of four people. There are two papers, each of four questions, with each question marked out of 7 points.
